Buzz the Fuzz is a silicon version of the legendary Tone Bender MKI. The schematic is the same but adapted by Manlay Sound for NPN silicon transistors. The sound this fuzz produces is magnificent, it retains the same character and personality as his big brother and even offers more sustain. It is also more stable, reliable and of course it can be powered by standard negative pole 9V power supplies.

The Tone Bender MKI was a derivation of the Maestro Fuzz Tone. It happened to be one of the greatests fuzzes ever. It was used by Jeff Beck on classic Yardbirds’ recordings, The Beatles used one on “Think For Yourself” (the famous bass fuzz part), Pete Townshend had one which ended up in the hands of Mick Ronson, Ronno made a great use of it in the early seventies, it was part of his sound on all the classic records that made David Bowie a legend. The “Buzz” has the great characteristics of the Tone Bender: its gated raspiness, great sustain, clarity and note separation when playing chords, it retains the voice of the guitar and/or selected pickup even when adjusted for maximum gain.
